Norwegian Cruise Line is an excellent choice for a Hawaii cruise for the family. Why? Because it is the only cruise line with round-trip cruises out of Honolulu. That makes the cruise much shorter and that's important for preventing kids from getting bored!
Norwegian Cruise Line's youth programs are Splash Academy (ages 3 to 12) anad Entourage (ages 13 to 17). The complimentary activities include Circus School where kids learn all kinds of fun skills.
Family Balcony Staterooms feature two lower beds and a convertible sofa, along with a private balcony. Two-bedroom Family Suites accommodate 5 in a living room with double sofa bed, two bedrooms, and a large balcony.
Other features of a Norwegian Cruise to Hawaii are the sports deck, video arcade, pools, and shows in the theater.
If you think your kids are up to a 10-day or 15-day cruise to Hawaii, then Carnival Cruise Line is a good option. They offer 15-day round-trip Hawaii cruises out of Los Angeles, and 10-day one-way cruises from Vancouver to Hawaii.
The Carnival Cruise fun ships are affordable and very casual, which is great for families. The youth programs are Camp Carnival, Circle C, and Club O2. The Seuss at Sea program includes a character parade and storytime.
Balcony staterooms sleep up to 4 and connecting staterooms are available. Suites provide more room.
